Following its successful launch in 2025, we are continuing our unique ‘AV Sans Frontières’ competition. The aim is to acknowledge the emerging genre of imagery generated by artificial intelligence (AI) and recognising the growing interest in AI generated sequencies.
We are offering you the opportunity to show your AI-Generated work to the World!

Rules for ‘AV Sans Frontières’

The images can be produced either partially or solely using AI Generative software.

The subject is ‘Open’ and we encourage you to be as creative and imaginative with the new technology as you can.

Images generated by the author’s own text prompts are preferable, but externally sourced AI images are also allowed.

The maximum duration of each entry is eight minutes.

Entry cost: £10 for one entry, and £15 for two entries
The Judging Process:
All entries will be forwarded to the Judges who will see and judge all the AVs on their own high-quality equipment.
Any necessary translations of the summaries will be provided to the jury.
The Judges will enter their scores on a spreadsheet individually. The spreadsheets will be collated into a single master spreadsheet. Once this process has been completed the Jury will meet using Zoom to review and discuss the results, just as they would have done in the Jury Room.

Guidelines and General Rules for the “AV Sans Frontieres Salon”
Entries are welcome from groups, clubs and individuals. Each Entry must be accompanied by

An Entry Form with a summary the AV (English or French);

A poster (1920 x 1080px jpg) for each entry;

A portrait of the entrant (600 x 800px jpg); ) a Proof of Payment receipt (PayPal or Bank Transfer)

Each entrant may enter one or two Sequences. The entry fees are £10 (for one entry) or £15 (for two entries)

Open entry must be no longer than 8 minutes.

All entries are to be submitted as MP4 format video files.

The organisers reserve the right to refuse to accept any Entry which they consider to be undesirable or unsuitable.

It is the entrant’s own responsibility to ensure that any material recorded on the soundtrack or shown images, is appropriately covered against copyright infringement. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright by the entrant. All sequences will initially be scanned by a commercially available antivirus program. If any problems are encountered the entrant will be contacted to resolve the matter. It will be at the organiser’s discretion to withdraw a sequence if no solution can be found, or if the entrant cannot be contacted.

Age Limit: Entries must have been made within 3 (three) years prior to the closing date.

Collaboration: An entrant’s name may NOT be credited to more than TWO sequences as author or co-author.

Electronic Submission; We Transfer has a time limit of 3 days for the free version. Alternatives who currently offer a seven-day window are https://fromsmash.com/; TransferNow (https://www.transfernow.net/en).
If electronic submission is not possible, the entry could be sent on a CD by post, but to arrive not later than the closing date. The CDs will be destroyed after the competition.
