Thank you to Alan Davies, all the way up from Ivybridge, for his comprehensive comments about our work. Alan kindly left me with his notes on our images so if anyone missed the evening and would like to see what Alan had to say about their images, please let me know. It was almost a record entry for digital images so Alan had his work cut out.

Again we had a very high standard of work across both prints and DPIs, and I thank you all for that even if it does make for harder work at our selection evenings! Seriously, we'd much rather have that "difficulty" than be pleading at the last moment for more images and prints from which we can select. Please keep up the fantastic work.

Congratulations of course go to everyone with awards but it is always particularly nice to see a new winner, so special congratulations to Ken! I hope Roger is also pleased with his "commended" for Autumn in Bryce Canyon, though I should think seeing a place like that is almost a reward in itself. Joe's charming "In Wonderland" also got a "commended" from Alan. I thought it was nice of Alan to feel it necessary to mention more than just the 3 H/Cs he's allowed, and so give a couple of "commended" awards. That reinforces the remarks I often make here that there are lots of good images which just happen to go unrewarded on that particular evening. Finally, to stalwarts Sheila, John Perriam, and our overall winner (again!), John Wickett, you continue to produce wonderful images to delight us all, thank you.
